**Article is a work in progress and will be updated throughout the week** Let’s play a game of Cop, Drop, Flip or Double Dip with upcoming sneaker releases for the week of February 8th, 2021.

Those of you familiar with sneaker culture have probably heard the phrase “Drip, Flip, or Skip” coined by Sole Collector’s YouTube show Full Size Run or the “Cop or Drop” IGTV series by Highsnobiety. To not completely copy these ideas at face value, I mixed them together and added my own category. For those not tuned into sneaker culture, the description of how this game works is below.

The rules of the game are simple: I go through each sneaker release coming this week and decide if you should Cop, Drop, Flip, or Double Dip that sneaker.

Cop means I like it and want to add it to my personal collection regardless of resell value or potential. depending on how much I like the shoe, I may even recommend paying resell to acquire it

Drop means I don’t like it and will not being trying to grab it, even to resell.

Flip means I don’t want to add the sneaker to my collection, but I will be trying to grab it strictly to resell.

Double Dip is a combination of Cop and Flip. It means that I want to add the sneaker to my collection AND try to resell another pair.

Last week recap: the only thing I went for was the Ambush Dunks and I took an expected L.

Its going to be a busy week. With a lot to cover my analysis and commentary is more brief than usual. However, I will continuously add to it throughout the week. I just want to make sure I publish the article in time for all the releases. Sneakers are listed in chronological order according to release date. All drop times are in PST. Release information is up to date as of Sunday 2/8/21. Let’s get into it.

Air Jordan 1 ’85 Neutral Grey (Feb. 10th at 7am on SNKRS) — $200

FLIP. Its a clean shoe but profit will be too good pass up. Its not an interesting enough colorway for me to pass on the opportunity to cash in.

Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 (Feb. 10th at 7am on trophyroomstore.com) — $190

FLIP. They’re going to be almost impossible to get as they are limited to only 12,000 pairs and rumors are Marcus Jordan already backdoor over half of them. But if the sneaker gods smile down upon you, a five figure pay day is in your future.

Air Jordan 14 x CLOT Terracotta (Feb. 11th at 7am on SNKRS) — $200

FLIP. I don’t understand the allure of CLOT but their last Air Force 1 goes for 3x retail. Even though this shoe is hideous, you can make a good profit.

Nike Dunk All Star 2021 (Feb. 11th time unknown [likely 7am] on nike.com *Not SNKRS*) — $120

FLIP. This release is rumored and currently unconfirmed. NBA All Star weekend is scheduled to begin this coming weekend on Sunday February 14th. But the status of the game and weekend as a whole has been a recent topic of controversy among NBA athletes. Players such as LeBron James have publicly opposed the idea of holding the event amid the pandemic. Given the uncertainty surround the event, if and when the shoes ever release, I expect them to return a nice profit.

Palace x Adidas Stan Smith (Feb. 12th at 8am on palaceskateboards.com) — around $100 — $120

DROP. I’m not positive these are releasing Friday but they were revealed as part of Palace’s Spring/Summer collection, the first drop of which is this Friday. Palace doesn’t release every piece of the collection on the first drop. They also don’t make it clear which pieces will and won’t be releasing. If these Stan Smiths do in fact release I recommend passing, even for personal. Palace sneaker collars don’t generate a ton of interest. Especially with how loaded this week is, these shoes might go completely unnoticed.

Nike Air Huarache Stussy Desert Oak & Dark Olive (Feb. 12th at 7am on stussy.com) — $120

FLIP. Colors are good. Material and quaility look good. Huaraches never did much for me. Both pairs will release on Stussy thie Friday and the Desert Oak will release again on SNKRS next Friday the 18th. That mean the Dark Olive is a Stussy exclusive and the one to go for on the 12th to maximize profit. Pairs will also release on Dover Street Market.

Air Jordan 6 Carmine (Feb. 13th at 7am on SNKRS and all footsites) — $200

COP. I don’t like the Jordan 6 but I love this shoe. Ever since I first got into sneakers over 10 years ago, the Carmine 6 was at the top of my list. The contrasting colors, sharp lines, color blocking scheme with the icy blue outsole finish is as good it gets. I would never wear a Jordan 6 but this is a great looking sneaker.

Women’s Air Max 90 Valentine’s Day (Feb. 13th at 7am on SNKRS) — $140

COP. Inclusive sizing for men and women on this one! This is THE absolute perfect shade of pink. I love this color. I often flip flop between this shade of pink and black as my personal favorite color. Holiday themed shoes can be hard to wear more than once a year because sometimes the design goes too far. This shoe, however, isn’t over the top. I can easily see this shoe being worn casually during the spring and summer.

Air Force 1 ’07 Valentine’s Day (Feb. 13th at 7am on SNKRS) — $130

Image via SNKRS

DOUBLE DIP. These are dope.Lots of cute small details included. The toe box air holes are little hearts. The i in Air on the heel is dotted with a heart. The tonuge label has a snap closure that opens to reveal little Valentine’s messsages. Throw a pair of red laces in for extra boldness. I have two pairs on the way already. Resale prices on larger sizes have dropped a lot. I guess men are still scared to wear pink and hearts in 2021. Sucks to be them. Go for bae sizes for resell.
